Lonodrop
A smart shower monitor that's illuminating the way you save water, the environment & money.
Launching a hardware startup.
Shaped in the form of a water droplet, the LonoDrop is a motion sensor hung on the shower-head that triggers LED lights to turn on while users are showering. The sensor changes color to indicate how long users have been showering to encourage shorter showers up to five minutes, compared to the average 11.5 minutes users spend. The product was focused on spreading awareness of habits that can easily be changed to save water and to help users track their daily water usage.
Built for young children that can understand and operate the device. If used as intended, device could allow an individual to save 5,000 gallons of water annually. Featured on multiple news publications like NPR. Won the green innovation award.
The best part of the entire experience was having the honor of leading 8 other individuals that were engineers and marketers. Can never forget working on the product and soldering the product late into the night (pic attached of our PCB boards)!
